78 Chicago is a brand-new neighborhood in downtown Chicago that is bringing retail, sports, offices, recreation and entertainment to one 62-acre site. In partnership with Gensler, Lerch Bates performed schematic design services on this riverfront community that will become a destination for Chicagoans and visitors alike.
One of the main attractions for this neighborhood is the new stadium for the Chicago Fire Football Club where LB is providing vertical transportation and building logistics consulting services. This soccer stadium will be the focal point of the first phase of the master plan and is expected to open for their 2028 season.
