601 W Properties has acquired Chicago’s Old Post Office and is moving forward with the repurposing of the original building although this will not include any new structures. The current vertical transportation design plans are intended to the make the most use out of the existing three banks of 6 passenger lifts through modernisation, freight lift retention and modernisation, and the installation of new passenger lifts within some existing freight lift shafts.
