Lerch Bates observed a retaining wall failure spanning approximately 25 feet of a 183-foot wall supporting a surface parking lot. Lerch Bates assessed the damage to determine potential causes of the failure, peripheral damage and sub-base deterioration to the parking lot and determine the expected remaining service life of the remaining wall. Lerch Bates determined that the failure was attributed to improper drainage and that the issues could extend to the length of the wall. Lerch Bates provided the team with a full cost estimate to assist the owner in planning repairs for the retaining wall.
