The Academy for Global Citizenship at the Cultivate Collective Campus received the award in the Education category. This innovative educational center on Chicago’s Southwest Side exemplifies the “school of the future” with its sustainable design and commitment to progressive education. SMNG A Ltd. and Farr Associates Architecture & Urban Design were recognized for their collaborative efforts in bringing this vision to life.
In the Healthcare and Research category, Esperanza Health Center stood out with its dynamic and welcoming design. Located in Brighton Park, this medical center redefines patient care environments with its playful and engaging architecture. The team from UrbanWorks, Ltd accepted the award, highlighting the center’s impact on improving healthcare experiences.
The Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, won the award in the Hospitality and Retail category. This beautifully restored landmark merges contemporary hospitality with the historic Moorish Revival architecture of the Karem Shrine Temple. Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture was recognized for their exceptional work in preserving the building’s historic charm while enhancing its functionality for modern use.
Triangle Square Apartments received the award for Multifamily Residential. This 300-unit development in Bucktown transforms a former industrial site into a vibrant residential community with impressive downtown views. The project, designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, reflects a modern vision for urban living.
In the Office category, 4300 E. Camelback was honored for its modern workplace design in Phoenix, Arizona. The project, also by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, blends high-end Southwest aesthetics with panoramic mountain views, creating a dynamic and inspiring work environment.
The Snug, a pioneering coach house built under Chicago’s new ADU ordinance, won in the Single Family Residential – New Construction category. Designed by Via Chicago, this project accommodates a multi-generational family with modern comforts, showcasing innovative solutions for urban living.
The Atrium House Renovation won for Single Family Residential – Renovation/Adaptive Reuse. This project skillfully merges two historic Y.C. Wong-designed townhouses in Hyde Park into a single, spacious home. Rosen Architecture was recognized for their expertise in blending historical preservation with contemporary design.
Finally, the Lerch Bates People’s Choice Award for Tall Building went to Fulton East, an office and retail building in Chicago’s Fulton Market District. The project emphasizes health and wellness in its design, earning accolades for its forward-thinking approach.
