O’Hare Terminal 5

Lerch Bates was awarded the Elevator Consulting Services for the Terminal 5 Expansion project at O’Hare international Airport. Current “Confidential and Pre-decisional” designs include new moving walks, escalators, lifts, and dumbwaiters. Dumbwaiters will be provided at each new gate, lifts serving both the tarmac and a new VIP lounge, and potentially the new terminal expansion itself, and escalators for tarmac and departing passengers. Also provided is a feasibility study to ascertain the current level of vertical transportation support and the effect of the current systems with the additional demand due to increased gate count.
