The £64M project consists of a two-story, 27,871 SM building providing world class Research & Development and Advanced Material Processing facilities in Golden, Colorado. The facility provides a state-of-the-art research and development hub outfitted with leading-edge equipment to develop innovative ceramic materials and processes for a variety of next-generation applications, a sophisticated analytical laboratory to provide the most comprehensive ceramic analyses available, and a world-class materials manufacturing facility enabling swift commercialisation and volume production using the latest technologies in advanced ceramic processing.

Working with Mortenson Construction, Lerch Bates’ services for the Phase I renovation included one Familiarisation Review of the As-Built drawings of the existing building and the plans for the R&D area, one On-site Quality Assurance observation and AAMA 501.2 Water Spray Testing. Phase 2 services included a 100% Construction Document (CD) Phase Review, Shop Drawing & Submittal Reviews, Pre-Installation Meetings, On-site Quality Assurance Observations, ASTM C1153 Nighttime Infrared roof Scan and AAMA 501.2 Water Spray Testing.
