Mountrail Williams Electric Cooperative HQ

As a part of the project team’s pursuit of LEED Gold Certification for the new Mountrail Williams Electric Cooperative (MWEC) office building, Lerch Bates provided Commissioning services throughout design and construction to fulfill LEED Enhanced Commissioning requirements for the building envelope. While field performance testing is generally required as a part of this scope of work, the project team opted to test 100% of the building envelope for air leakage with a whole building air barrier test. Lerch Bates tested the completed building according to ASTM E779 to verify that the air leakage through the building envelope (including the extensive glass curtain wall system) was minimal to maximize the efficiency of the HVAC and energy systems.
