On Sept. 24, the architecture and design community gathered along the Hudson River for the annual New York Architects’ Regatta, a longstanding tradition that brings together industry professionals for a day of competition, camaraderie, and charitable impact.
As a returning sponsor, Lerch Bates was proud to support this unique event and our architecture community partners while also taking to the water as a participating race team. The regatta is known for its spirited racing on the Hudson River, but its greater purpose is supporting nonprofit organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
A key beneficiary of this year’s event is Robie Pierce One Design Regattas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to competitive sailing for individuals with disabilities. Through adaptive sailing programs and events held across the country, the organization helps create opportunities for athletes of all abilities to participate, compete and thrive on the water.
The regatta weekend kicked off with the annual Skippers’ Meeting in the historic Model Room of the New York Yacht Club, where participants gathered to connect with fellow competitors and celebrate the event’s enduring impact. Race day brought together teams across two sailing classes, navigating the Hudson River with strategy, teamwork and friendly competition. As a participating team, Lerch Bates joined fellow architects, engineers and industry partners on the water, embracing the collaborative spirit that has defined the event for decades.
Beyond the finish line, the Architects’ Regatta continues to exemplify the collaborative spirit of the architecture and design industry.
