David Oettinger, National Practice Leader, began working for Lerch Bates in 2022 and is currently working in the Lerch Bates New York office ensuring the successful execution of work deliverables and financial outcomes for the Logistics Consulting Group. Previously, David worked for Princeton University as the Recycling and Solid Waste Operations Manager in Princeton, NJ.

Areas of Expertise

  • Participates in the strategic planning process for the organisation. Using the strategic plan, develops a plan for the Business Lines short-term and long-term success through forecasting, budgeting, and staffing for the entire area with input from other business leaders.
  • Manages the disciplines performance in terms of quality, productivity, and financial results. Provides feedback to senior leadership and employees regarding performance and adjusts plans and staffing when necessary.
  • Works closely with headquarters leadership and other leaders to ensure consistent processes are followed and communication is efficient.
  • Develops employees in their area to meet compliance requirements, client expectations of quality of service and future succession planning for the organisation through training, coaching, mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Networks with others to develop business opportunities and potential future employees. Meets regularly with current clients to maintain and enhance relationships. Actively prospect for major client opportunities, propose significant projects and engage in business development activities.

The NJDEP awarded Princeton University its 2020, Institution award for its recycling leadership, “pursuing innovative techniques and strategies to further reduce waste streams and for its comprehensive recycling and reuse programs.”
