Legacy Award Citation – Bradford J. Prestbo, FAIA
The BSA Legacy Award honors Bradford J. Prestbo, FAIA, for his long-standing commitment to the Boston architecture community and his belief in architecture as a collaborative, civic, and forward-looking practice.
Brad’s leadership has helped expand how the profession understands design, not just as an outcome, but as a process grounded in craft, performance, and shared responsibility. Through his work with the BSA, including the founding of MakeTANK, Brad created space for experimentation, learning by doing, and new forms of leadership that have influenced how many of us think about practice today.
Across his career, Brad has consistently championed mentorship, teamwork, and the importance of supporting diverse paths to leadership within architecture. His work reminds us that meaningful impact comes not only from the buildings we produce, but from the people we support and the culture we help shape.
Brad’s legacy at the BSA and in Greater Boston is one of generosity, curiosity, and deep care for the profession and its future. We are grateful for his contributions and proud to recognize him with this year’s Legacy Award.
