A new 41-story office tower is coming to the financial center of Miami, Florida that will become one of the most sustainable office buildings in the world. Named Santander Tower, the building will feature landscaped balconies and space for retail, restaurants, daycare and wellness facilities to provide new resources and experiences to this growing area of miami. Santander Tower will replace the existing 14-story building at 1401 Brickell Avenue, home to Santander Private Banking for many years.

Lerch Bates Consultant jeff polizzi, lead the façade access team on this project, designing a sophisticated Business Maintenance Unit (BMU) for the main tower that will have a reach of approximately 126 feet and a 9-foot forward approach system that provides access beyond the building’s exoskeleton. A material hoist will be used with the capacity to replace the largest glass panel on the building, and the ability to manage the landscaping elements on the balconies, including large features such as trees. Additionally, a davit system will be employed
