With a site area of approx 28,000 m2, the project consist of 3 towers located on a retail podium. The total construction built up area of the project is 245.000 m2.The three towers are as follows: a 190m Residential Tower, a 160m Hotel Tower, and a 140m Office Tower. The project's design is inspired by Azerbaijan’s long history with fire worshipping. The towers are meant to be an eternal flame for a modern Baku.

Hong Kong

Completed in 1990, the Façade Access Consulting Group was approached after the initial exterior building maintenance equipment failed to work properly.  Lerch Bates successfully designed a new system that integrated with the existing façade and overall design features. 

Bethesda, Maryland

This project is the Metro stop facility for the new Purple Line and existing Red Line and involves joint participation between Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Maryland Transportation Authority (MTA) and Montgomery County Maryland government.

San Ramon, California

Bishop Ranch is the largest commercial office complex in the East Bay located in San Ramon, CA.  Lerch Bates is providing maintenance management for all buildings that are home to 96 elevators.  Our work includes initial equipment assessments, monthly maintenance management meetings, elevator contractor follow up and callback reviews, quarterly follow ups, modernization capital planning and client/elevator contractor coordination.

Lerch Bates was commissioned to be part of the design and construction for the replacement of three geared traction elevators.

Abu Dhabi

The future iconic multi-use landmark development for Abu Dhabi. Featuring three high rise towers containing residential, serviced apartments, hotel and commercial offices, the tallest rises to 88 floors. Designed by Foster & Partners the three towers will be the new landmark for the city.The entire development comprises parking, retail, conference, health club, offices, hotels, apartments and public viewing facilities. Scheduled for phased completion in 2010 there are over 100 lifts and escalators in the scheme including double deck lifts for the office tower.

Kolkata

Working with Architects V Chadha - The Design Cell and Developer Diamond Empire Estates Pvt Ltd, Lerch Bates was commissioned to design and engineer the elevator structures in this 237 meter tall tower with 54 floors, 6 parking floors, 2 restaurants, 1 helipad and 2 viewing gallery floors.

Cleveland, Ohio

Catering to business convenience, Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center is located in the heart of the city of Cleveland, Ohio.  Construction began in January 2011 and is expected to open in September 2013.  Upon completion, the Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center will include a 100,000 square foot medical mart and an adjoining convention center with 230,000 square feet of exhibit hall space.  The facility is also set to include more than 92,000 square feet dedicated to meeting rooms and a Grand Ballroom overlooking picturesque Lake Erie. The project includes 16 elevators and 17 escalators.

Riyadh

The CMA Tower is the first and signature building of the Kingdom Financial District of Riyadh. The Owner is the Central Monetary Authority (CMA) of Saudi Arabia. The Central Monetary Authority will occupy the top 3rd of the building with the middle and lower 3rds being diversified occupants.

The building consist of four basement levels with parking and back of house functions, a three entry level Podium with restaurants, meeting facilities, and workout areas. The building is served by two double-deck sky lobbies; the local floors service is by the ThyssenKrupp TWIN systems. These systems were used to provide the needed net rentable space while minimizing core within the allowable floor space. There are 11 Double Deck shuttle cars, 17 TWINS, 12 escalators and 12 other elevators (Service and Machine Room Less units). The project is to be completed by mid-year 2012.

Doha

The Heart of Doha Project is an ambitious project of urban renewal that covers approximately 35 hectares in the center of the city.   Lerch Bates services include Concept Design through Tender Documents for New Vertical Transportation Equipment.

Charlotte, NC

Designed by LBNA this 39 floor high-rise is a feat with its 4 car group of elevators and a 40% increase in speed for enhanced service to users.  All located in a desired hotel/office zoned block.

Boston, MA

Development of a new climate controlled pedestrian circulation system of elevated walkways links the major terminals, the main parking garage and the Hilton Hotel at Logan in a comprehensive network to serve 45,000,000 passengers. The walkways offer broad views of Boston and activity at the airport, helping to orient travelers in moving through the airport. Cambridge Seven Associates has retained the service of the Lerch Bates Boston office for full design and construction services for the elevators escalators and moving walks on this project.

InterContinental’s new flagship hotel and condominium complex occupies a premiere site on Boston’s Fort Point Channel. Its 20-story, sculpted glass towers rise above the Harbor, reflecting the colors of the sky and sea on the waterfront side and the towers of Boston’s Financial District on the front, facing the new Rose Kennedy Greenway. Along Fort Point Channel, the towers step down to a 60-foot component set back over the elegant lawns of a waterfront plaza and terraced dining area. The Lerch Bates Boston office was retained by Elkus Manfredi to perform full design and construction services for the vertical transportation equipment.

Murry, UT

 The 468-bed flagship medical center for the IHC system will consolidate services now dispersed among four medical centers in the IHC urban central region, on a new 110-acre brownfield site.The organizational concept for the 1.2 million square-foot project is the creation of five institute centers of excellence. The Womens and Newborns, Tertiary Trauma, Heart & Lung, Ambulatory Care and Oncology Centers of Excellence will anchor the campus with physician office space dispensed throughout. Each have a distinct identity and patient service to facilitate ambitions of introducing the patient experience and efficiency of care while sharing the campus support infrastructure. Each institute has separate growth zones allowing future additions to supplement the state of the art services for years to come.

Riyadh

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) is reviewing the Master Planning efforts for the campus located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A portion of the Master Planning review is to assess the current Warehouse and Distribution areas and operations, and to evaluate the ability of the existing Warehouse spaces to support the planned campus expansion.  Master Planning for the campus expansion will include the ‘Mega Project’ identified below:

These two (2) mixed use towers sit on top of a podium and will be one of the dominating structures located on the Jeddah Corniche. Jeddah is located in the western province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Lerch Bates was retained by the local architect of record and then the owner directly to provide the tender documentation, assist in the tender and negotiation, and be involved throughout the construction of this project.

Marina 101 will be the tallest hotel apartment tower in the world when completed. It will have a height of 412 meters for the exclusive 101 floors. Design is still ongoing.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

This project consists of Design and Contract Document prepration and project management of complete modernization.  Marriott City Center Hotel is located in the center of downtown Minneapolis and includes 8 passenger, 4 service, 1 freight elevators, and 4 escalators serving the 32-floor facility.

Al Jaber Tower is located in Media City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A mixed use project anchored by a hotel with different commercial tenants occupying the remainder of the building. There are multiple banks of elevators serving different zones with the fastest elevators at 5.0 m/s for the office floors.

Berkeley, CA

Atlanta, Georgia

Over the last 15+ years Lerch Bates has been involved with varying projects including new design for new stations, modernization studies for elevators and escalators, maintenance audits, accident investigations and maintenance specification development. Currently Lerch Bates is providing elevator/escalator maintnenance oversight and assistence to the MARTA team as they deem necessary. Lerch Bates will also be overseeing the construction phase of the modernization program for escalators.

Las Vegas, NV

MGM City Center has 250 elevators and 60 escalators. The Block A portion which consists of the Aria – 4000 room hotel, the Convention Center, main Theater, Casino, Back of House for the Casino and hotel and the Sinatra Parking Garage were all designed by Pelli, Clark, Pelli  in association with HKS – Dallas.

Moscow

The future iconic multi-use landmark building for Moscow. At around 600m in height and 120 floors it will rank as one of the tallest structures in the world. Designed by Foster & Partners the building is the centre piece for the Moscow City Development on the river. The building will comprise parking, retail, conference, health club, office, hotel, apartments and public viewing facilities. It would be possible for people to literally “live and work” within this vast complex. It will be the first high rise building with three independent sky lobbies. It is planned to use 24 double deck lifts for both “shuttle” and “local” lift service. The building also features the fastest lifts in Europe.

Columbus, Ohio

Bob Uber in the Lerch Bates Cleveland office is providing the elevator modernization services for 6 passenger elevators and one service elevator in the Nationwide Plaza Four building and parking garage.  Nationwide, based in Columbus, Ohio, is one of the largest and strongest diversified insurance and financial services organizations in the U.S. Nationwide is making continuing efforts to develop more environmentally friendly workplaces. Lerch Bates Middle East is pleased to announce the involvement in the first Donald Trump project in Dubai.  The Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower will be a spectacular centerpiece on The Golden Mile - the exclusive residential and retail boulevard on the trunk of The Palm Jemeriah Island.  The project is designed by Lee Morris from WS Atkins.  Lee Morris also designed the 7 star Burj Al Arab hotel which has been featured on commercials with Tiger Woods playing golf and Andre Agassi playing tennis on the roof helipad.

Lerch Bates has been contracted to provide elevator consulting services in the conceptual, schematic, design and tender document phases.

Pershing Point Plaza was completely renovated in early 2001, and is now a beautiful 7 story, Class “A” multi-tenant office building comprising of 410,057 rsf. The previous two buildings now connected (North Tower and South Tower) to provide a single address and efficiently designed contiguous floor plates.

Kuala Lumpur

Completed in 1998, this project consists of two tapered towers that are connected by a sky bridge.  Scaling over 1,671' (452m) it was the tallest building in the world, when it was completed and featured in the movie "Entrapment".

Russia Wharf is a historic building located on Boston's Fort Point Channel. The building is being completely demolished and being replaced with a mixed use complex comprising office space, condominiums and a residence for Tufts University. The project involves 26 elevators. Lerch Bates was retained by the local architectural firm and long time Lerch Bates client, CBT Architects to perform full design and construction administration services .

Sun Life Stadium, originally known as Joe Robbie Stadium, was the first of its kind to be constructed entirely with private funds.  Originally built  in 1987 by the late Joe Robbie, the Stadium is a multi-purpose facility with more than 1.5 million square feed, over 24,000 parking spaces, 75,000 seats and a playing field that meets standards for the NFL, MLB and World Cup Soccer.

Taipei

Completed in 2003, it gets its name because it has 101 stories that are above ground.  It is currently the tallest building in the world.  It is 1,671' (508m) tall.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Temple University is developing a former building site as part of their 20/20 Plan. This will completely transform this site into a new, signature building complex that will help define the southern gateway to the campus.  The proposed concept will include residential towers for 1500 to 1600 students with associated amenities, dining facility and a commercial/retail space along Broad Street. As part of the Universities efforts to provide "Green" space, the design will include a court yard integrated with the commercial establishments that would be open to the students and patrons alike.  The building will include a Residence floors Tower 24 , mid-rise 8, and a 3 story retail/dining with Broad Street frontage.

The 99-unit apartment building includes hotel/concierge services and parking facilities. Located at the corner of Huntington Avenue and Garrison Street, The Colonnade Residences reinforces the rich diversity of uses on one of the city’s most important thoroughfares.

Toronto, Ontario

The Toronto Hospital resolves a range of planning issues related to effective health care delivery on an extremely dense urban site adjacent to Toronto's main civic boulevard. Four individual hospitals have been consolidated into three units and with a total of 2.5 million square-feet in new construction and related renovations. The Clinical Services Building, the jewel-in-the-crown of the three campuses, is the most significant component of new construction. The new 224-bed facility will house 22 operating rooms. The Diagnostic and Treatment Department includes 3 MRI's, 12 Ultrasound and 2 CT Scans in addition to general radiology facilities. The new Emergency Services Building will accommodate 60,000 visits per year and will house the Emergency Department, Dietary for all 3 campuses, materials management, and various support.

Galveston, Texas

The University of Texas Medical Branch was established in 1891 as the University of Texas Medical Department. UTMB has grown from 1 building in 1891 to an important and modern health science center with more than 70 major buildings, 2,500 plus students and 1,000 faculty.

As a result of Hurricane Ike in September of 2008, the Universities’ 132 elevators were damaged from minor to full and complete destruction. Lerch Bates was asked to execute an assessment condition damage report and compare those findings with FEMA official’s results. Temporary repairs were agreed upon to get the priority elevators back into operation while complying with jurisdictional authority mandates. The real work began with scores of renovation and modernization specifications as well as construction administration, code inspections, etc. Also damaged during the storm was the Universities’ pneumatic tube system in their main hospital core. Our 3MH group headed by Hue Roach performed on-site reviews, formulated mitigation tasks, and renovations are underway on their pneumatic trash and linen chute system and the pneumatic tube system.

Las Vegas, Nevada

This project is part of the MGM City Center, which has 250 elevators and 60 escalators. Of this total, Veer Tower has 8 elevators; four in each building. The owner is MGM/Mirage and the architect was Murphy Jahn (Chicago) in collaboration with Adamson Architects out of Toronto and executive architect Gensler and Associates.

Mumbai, Worli

King Tower, officially known as World One, is projected to be the second tallest residential building in the world at 442m. At time of completion it will be the tallest building in India. Apartment prices range from 1.4M USD to 9.5M USD. Due to 80% of the building being inset balconies and all other cladding being metal paneling only one BMU is being used and it is primarily for glass replacement.

Dubai

World Trade Center Residences feature an exclusive location and have duplex floors served by two banks of elevators with a destination control system. The low-rise passenger elevators will run at 4.0 m/s and the high-rise elevators will run at 6.0 m/s.

Wuhan

Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture has recently won an international design competition to design Wuhan Greenland Center.  The tower reaches 606 meters (or 1,988 feet) high, and upon completion in five years it will become the world’s fourth tallest building.  At 119 stories and 300,000 square meters of floor area, it will include luxury apartments, a five-star hotel, premium office space, and a club at the penthouse level featuring breathtaking views of Wuhan.

The tower incorporates several revolutionary design techniques aimed at making the tower more efficient.  The footprint is tripod-shaped with rounded corners built around a composite concrete and steel core, and tapers extensively as it travels upwards.  AS+GG has noted on their website that “The building's extremely efficient aerodynamic performance will allow it to minimize the amount of structural material (and its associated embodied carbon) needed for construction.”  Additionally, there are vents built into the tower structure at the tips of the three legs, which will further improve the aerodynamic performance and house façade access equipment.  Several additional sustainable elements will be integrated, including a greywater recovery system, a high efficiency lighting system, a daylight-responsive control system, and low-flow plumbing fixtures.

Boston, MA

The Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care is a 14 story ambulatory facility located at Massachusetts General Hospital, located near the banks of the Charles River in Boston, MA. The Lerch, Bates Boston office was retained by Cambridge Seven Associates to perform full design and construction services for the 9 passenger elevators and 6 service/patient elevators.
